Here is a brief summary of print on "Tides of Life" so far: I am very grateful for the attention from the great New York City Jazz Record team, especially Clifford Allen, as much as from Jazzthing's Uli Lemke and Jazzpodium's Benno Bartsch. Clifford writing about „The Tides of Life“ in the April 2015 edition of NYCJazzRecord references Larry Cart's book Jazz in Search of Itself and notes: „...the music encompasses both a continual search for the new and a veneration of old forms...“. He then describes the music referencing Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Andrew Hill and Sam Rivers: „The chord voicings hew towards the pillowy and ambiguous, but Scheidt's propulsive pizzicato is taut and centered...“ Concluding he writes: „While postbop might be codified, luckily nobody has cracked that code yet - and Scheidt's quintet is up to the challenge.“

Uli Lemke was so kind to interview me for the February 2015 edition of Jazzthing and gave me a chance to put „The Tides of Life“ into context describing my love for the quintets of the 60´s and explaining my approach to composition. He found the result of this personal and artistic journey to be „ ...entirely competent...“ and „..far more than a homage...“

Jazzpodium´s Benno Bartsch had been following and reviewing my work from the beginning with my first CD „Half a Year in Half an Hour“ in 2009. I am very grateful for his attention and his rewarding judgement of „The Tides of Life“ in the April 2015 edition of Jazzpodium: „...a beautiful, felicitous realisation of a very sophisticated program idea.“
