Holger Scheidt: Scene, Flights Falls.

Holger Scheidt: Scene, Flights Falls.

Born in 1979 in the city of Wuerzburg, this upright bass player studied Jazz in Munich, Montpellier and Boston, and is currently living and working in Brooklyn, NYC. His debut work „Half a Year in Half an Hour“, published in 2008 had been impressive, yet his recent production is so much more unpredictable, deeper and more energetic. Holger Scheidt builds on the atmosphere of departure of BeBop of the 40s and of Electric-Jazz-Rock of the 60s in his very own way – and we may be curious where this trip will lead us in the future. Because very obviously this bass player not only offers an intense tone and good compositional skills, but as leader of a 8-member studio ensemble is also capable of magically creating energy and of perfectly documenting it on tape. This is the Jazz pulse of the new decade – and a outstanding Jazz bass player.
